Nestled in a superb Montecito location, the Refined Ranch House project included a transformation of the existing home with an interior renovation, as well as the design and construction of a new ADU. The result is a harmonious blend of contemporary design and a thoughtful embrace of indoor-outdoor living.
Our team executed a comprehensive renovation of a 1950’s ranch-style home into a modern, refined Montecito ranch house that balances sophistication, current design sensibility and utility with comfort.

We undertook a comprehensive renovation, enhancing the home's layout and flow complete with vaulted ceilings to enhance the size of space within while building a new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that serves as a versatile space for guests and entertaining. The design emphasizes open areas filled with natural light, creating a tranquil atmosphere that harmonizes with the surrounding environment.
A new pool, main house and guest house triangulate to create a backyard with a private, compound-like feel complete with terraced landscaping and an ocean-view fire pit.
Throughout the ADU, generously sized windows, large glass doors, and an indoor-outdoor kitchen bar allow for a beautiful balance of natural light and provide ample opportunities for letting the outdoors in. This award-winning ADU was honored for innovation and achievement in design at the 2025 Santa Barbara Contractors Association award ceremony.
The owner utilized warm, moody, and elegant furnishings and finishes throughout the home that not only reflect the client’s personal style but also embrace the casual, California coastal charm quintessential to the local area.
The well-appointed main house kitchen includes an expansive sliding glass door that opens up to the property’s impeccably landscaped multi-level backyard and a thoughtfully designed al fresco dining area.
